The most romantic city in America isn’t a beach destination or a quiet mountain retreat. It’s New York City. Researchers with dating platform Agilis analyzed online searches for date ideas, romantic restaurants, proposal spots, and couples’ activities in 30 major U.S. cities. After adjusting for population, New York topped the list, suggesting residents are thinking about romance more than anyone else. The city offers plenty of options for couples, from walks through Central Park and along the High Line to rooftop views, Broadway shows, and sunset cruises on the Hudson River. Researchers say search activity doesn’t prove a city is more romantic, but it does reveal where people are most actively looking for love-inspired experiences.
Here are the 10 most romantic cities:
New York, New York
Nashville, Tennessee
Austin, Texas
Chicago, Illinois
Jacksonville, Florida
Denver, Colorado

The Fourteen Foods You Should Eat Every Week: Every day, we wake up, wondering what to eat that won’t give us cancer, make us fat or make our spouse hate us. Nutritionist Dominique Ludwig is here to help, providing us a list of 14 foods we should be fitting into our week.
They are:
Chickpeas: filling, economical and a good source of folate, zinc and magnesium
Eggs: they contain all nine essential amino acids required to keep our tissues, hormones and immune system functioning
Tinned sardines: hear her out; they’re a great source of protein and one of the more affordable oily fish
Cavalo nero: also known as black kale. The darker and greener the vegetables, the more plant compounds they generally contain.
Cavolo nero is also particularly fibrous, which keeps blood sugars steady, and contains folate for heart health. It’s also an excellent source of vitamins A, C and K1, which we need for blood clotting
Oats: contain protein and a type of fibre called beta glucans, which have been shown to lower LDL cholesterol, making them heart-friendly
Frozen berries: Vitamin C, antioxidants and fibre. Plus, flash-freezing them seals in more nutrients than you get with fresh fruit
Chia seeds: a great source of fibre, protein, iron, calcium, magnesium, zinc and alpha-linolenic acid (all beneficial things)
Lean ground beef: a source of B12, which supports energy levels and muscle function, zinc and iron Brazil nuts: an amazing source of magnesium, copper, zinc, and selenium, which supports the immune system and thyroid function

Cheddar: a great source of calcium and iodine as well as vitamins A and D Lentils: provides fibre and protein, stabilize blood sugars and keep you full for longer, while providing all the same plant compounds as beans, such as folate, zinc and magnesium
Dark Chocolate: it’s packed with flavonols which reduce blood pressure and support cardiovascular health. Dark chocolate is also a rich source of magnesium and iron, and provides a surprising amount of fibre Tahini: a sesame-seed paste, the seeds are one of the richest sources of non-dairy calcium you can include in your diet.

Today is National Name Your Car Day ... 12 Fun Facts About Naming Cars
About 42% of Americans say they name their vehicles. A 2018 survey found that nearly three-quarters of those people said naming their car made them feel more bonded to it.
Women were slightly more likely than men to name their cars in that survey. The difference was 7 percentage points.
Cars are more often given female names than male names. In the same survey, about 55% of people who named their cars treated the vehicle as female, with “Betsy” and “Betty” among the most popular names.
Many people don't name their car immediately. The survey found that 43% of people waited at least a month after buying their vehicle before deciding on its name.
A car's personality actually factors into its name. Fifty-six percent of respondents said things such as the car's personality, make/model, and color influenced what they called it.
“Lizzie” became a word for an automobile more than 100 years ago. The Oxford-style historical record at Etymonline dates the use of “Lizzie” as slang for a motor car, particularly an early Ford, to around 1913.
The Ford Model T had dozens of nicknames. “Tin Lizzie” was the most famous, but Ford itself notes that the Model T accumulated many different nicknames during its production run.
“Tin Lizzie” may have originated with one specific car. One widely repeated account traces the name to a Model T called “Old Liz,” which competed in a 1922 Pikes Peak race and subsequently helped popularize the nickname for Model Ts generally. The exact origin isn't certain, though.
Individual car names are actually studied as a form of naming. A 2023 academic paper on unofficial vehicle names distinguishes between names used by a whole community, such as “Tin Lizzie,” and names given to one particular vehicle by its owner or family.
The tradition of giving cars human names is almost as old as mass automobile ownership itself. “Tin Lizzie” was already being used for the Model T in the early 20th century, and the Model T was produced from 1908 to 1927, with more than 15 million eventually built.
The Volkswagen Beetle is one of the most commonly nicknamed cars in history. Its rounded shape inspired names like “Bug,” “Beetle,” and even country-specific nicknames in dozens of languages.
Color is one of the biggest inspirations for car names. Names like “Ruby,” “Pearl,” “Snowball,” “Midnight,” and “Silver Bullet” are popular because the vehicle's paint essentially provides the nickname for free.

The Daily Mirror says Jamie and Michelle Wade fell into the River Bure in Norfolk, England while posing in a canoe in full wedding attire. The couple lost their balance during the photo shoot and, in Michelle's words, “went down like the Titanic.” She had been wearing her $2,446 wedding gown for only two hours. Their photographer had suggested getting creative after rain and thunder meant they would not get a sunset picture. A wedding guest rushed over to check on them, slipped, and broke their leg. Jamie spent the reception tipping water from his boots, while Michelle later burned her toe after accidentally putting her foot in a fireworks machine.
