**COMING SUMMER OF 2027**
Glasgow Schools announces official partnerships for The Scottie Field Recharged Project; these contributions currently exceed $3.255 million.
Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital headlines the project as lead partner with their recently announced $2.1 Million dollar commitment. We cannot thank our local hospital enough for their trust in our schools and their focus on both the physical and mental health of our community. This support will also greatly expand youth recreational opportunities for Northeast Montana.
The Glasgow Area Chamber of Commerce has been HUGE in taking on the application process and the administrative lead in securing a partial "Pilot Community Tourism Grant" through the Montana Department of Commerce. This 3-part grant is set to account for up to $900K, which will be earmarked for Scottie Field renovations.
Last week, the Glasgow Scottie Booster Club committed an additional $86K towards the Scottie Field improvements from their "Capital Improvements" account. Having earlier fully funded the GeoTech report associated with site preparation, this brings the Booster Club's total project contribution to just north of $100K.
Independence Bank, Cottonwood Inn & Suites, and Nemont have officially joined the aforementioned Scottie Booster Club as "Anchor Sponsors" for the Daktronics Sound System and Video Scoreboard. Each of these valued partners has committed $37,500 towards the project, while Independence Bank has committed an additional $12,500 toward improvements to the facility's "Crows Nest", bringing their total financial commitment to $50K.
The Glasgow Scotties Recharged fundraising account, valued right at $30,000, will also be transferred to the project.
PROJECT DETAILS -- The Scottie Field Recharged Project is a $3.44 million dollar grassroots effort aimed at rejuvenating our communities' historic 50-year old Scottie Field. The project, which will officially break ground in May of 2027, includes the replacement of our current asphalt all-weather track and the natural grass field with a post-tensioned concrete all-weather Beynon Sports Track and an artificial FieldTurf VertexPrime playing surface. The facility will include new LED Musco Lighting, which is set to be installed next month. The LED's will replace our facility's antiquated Metal Halide bulbs and will result in substantial annual energy savings for the District. A new facility Sound System with a video scoreboard by Daktronics is set for an early spring installation. We will share the Lights project and the Scoreboard at a later date.
