Our hobbies tend to evolve as we get older. What we enjoy in our 20s might look a little different once we hit 35 and beyond. That’s not a bad thing! This is the perfect time to explore new interests that are not only fun but also give our brains a little workout. After all, there are so many activities out there that we might not have considered before, whether it's picking up a creative skill, learning something new, or finding a fun way to spend time with others. Who says we have to stick to the same hobbies forever?

Keeping mentally sharp doesn’t have to feel like work, either. The right hobbies can challenge us, spark our curiosity and give us something new to look forward to. They can also add a little variety to our routines and help us discover interests we never knew we had. The best part? You don't have to be an expert or spend a fortune to get started. If you’re looking for ways to keep your mind engaged now and in the years ahead, these are some hobbies worth adding to your routine.

So far no arrests have been made.

In Las Vegas, a tourist has blamed the theft of a flamingo from a hotel on a few dozen beers. Late last week, 34-year-old Canadian tourist Mitchell Fairbairn took to the witness stand to answer charges of animal cruelty. Fairbairn was accused of plucking a flamingo from the Flamingo Hotel and Casino, and taking it back to his room. On the stand, Fairbairn said he had no “malicious intent” for the bird, but “30 or 40 beers” made jumping the fence and taking the bird appear to be a reasonable thing to do at the time. A jury convicted Fairbairn of the charges, though he submitted a plea of not guilty, and he’s scheduled to be sentenced on December 1st.
