What’s a 10/10 life experience you must have at least once in your life? (AskReddit)
A common theme … real, extended time off.
Some responses:
The time between getting a job offer and the actual start date. I had around a month in between and went on vacation, and it was the best I’ve ever felt mentally.
Absolute freedom for a length of time long enough to not think about your next obligation. When I left college I worked for a few months, saved up a few k and went to go backpacking in Southeast Asia with no return ticket. Trip ended up being just over four months before I came home, but the way I felt in those days when all I knew was that I was about to go on an adventure and had nothing from my normal life to stress me out is something I’ll never forget. Legit felt like I was floating through my days. It was amazing.
I had 23 days off in a row this summer. First time in 20 years. It was great — 10/10.
Extended travel for a few months with nothing pre-planned except tomorrow's accommodations.
Traveling to someplace with a different culture, religion, etc. You learn things about yourself and the world. Doesn’t need to be far, just far enough. A 10/10 for me.
Love. It is fleeting, but the time you have with it is amazing.
Living alone.
Accomplishing something you didn't think you were capable of. It's such an amazing feeling to give something your all and actually do it.
Hearing "I'm proud of you" from someone you look up to.
A road trip with your friends.
A true friend
Skydiving. Seeing and facing the earth from that perspective.
Hiking in the Dolomites.
Kayaking on an empty lake surrounded by mountains.
Logging off your phone for an extended period of time.
Holding your newborn baby.

Using a bidet. My wife insisted we get one, and it changed my life.
