Tuesday: 80% Ground Beef $3.99 per pound

Never a hit in America, this was a #12 smash in England in 1977. This song tells the story of a German couple who are so determined to be together that they meet every day under a gun turret on the Berlin Wall. Bowie, who was living in Berlin at the time, was inspired by an affair between his producer Tony Visconti and backup singer Antonia Maass, who would kiss "by the wall" in front of Bowie as he looked out of the Hansa Studio window. Bowie moved to Berlin after burning out from touring and fame. He rented a cheap apartment above an auto-repair shop, which is where he wrote this album.

Bowie played this at Live Aid from Wembley Stadium, England in 1985, and also at the Berlin Wall in 1987.
The Wallflowers covered this in 1998. Their version was used on the soundtrack to the movie Godzilla.

We've got part of the cover from Def Leppard and the original from David, on Two For Tuesday, brought to you by Reynold's Market, next!

Tim's News You Can't Use

When it comes to eating, there's a new focus on gut health with many health experts advising us to reach for the fiber. Some doctors believe fiber is the new protein, especially for boosting women's health. This comes with a new emphasis on metabolic wellness, just as protein obsession seems to have peaked. Dr. Jennifer Ashton, OB-GYN and nutrition expert and “Today Show” contributor, says fiber is good for digestion, your heart, metabolism, hormone levels and the immune system but that most of us don't get enough. Dr. Ashton says that's easy to fix by adding more whole grains, beans, nuts and seeds to our diets, as well as fruits and vegetables. Most importantly, she says you should start the day with fiber.

Talker News says a small study recently found that peanuts improve memory. The study, published in Food & Function, included 31 healthy adults. They ate 60 grams of skin-roasted peanuts on a daily basis for 16 weeks and then did not eat peanuts. MRI scans showed improved memory from the nuts.

Scientists have discovered that burglars can now be identified using invisible genetic material floating in the air — long after they leave a crime scene. Researchers tested the technique by having mock intruders spend 15 minutes searching homes — then used special vacuum devices to pull floating DNA from the air 30 minutes later. This vacuuming trick matched the DNA to the intruder in up to 82% of tests. While scientists caution that airborne DNA is only a tool rather than full proof of a crime, police forces are already exploring how to use the tech to solve real break-ins.

The Post and Courier says the South Carolina State Fair is going viral because of its food. One vendor, named Deanna’s Diner, is selling a Reese’s Donut Burger. The burger is sandwiched between a glazed donut and topped with Nutella, vanilla icing, Reese’s peanut butter cups, cheese and bacon.

Move over designer bags. The hottest new accessory might be a purse full of pickles. KFC Netherlands has unveiled the Gherkin Bag, a designer-inspired handbag filled with actual pickles and pickle juice. The pickle-packed purse was created with Amsterdam pickle maker Kesbeke as part of KFC's new "Pickle Obsessed" campaign. And the bag is just the beginning. The campaign also features a limited-edition pickle menu with a Pickle Burger, Pickle Loaded Fries, fried pickles, and even Pickle Pepsi. KFC is also rolling out a pickle-themed delivery bike and giving fans a chance to win one of the bags through a special giveaway. Apparently, this follows an earlier stunt by KFC UK, which introduced a transparent jacket filled with real pickles and brine.

WLKY says a giant inflatable Halloween pumpkin recently broke free in Dubuque, Iowa. It  rolled onto Main Street, where a driver swerved to avoid it.  The wind carried the inflatable away after it broke loose. It struck parked cars. The city said no people, vehicles, parking meters or pumpkins were damaged. The city reminded residents to secure Halloween decorations so they do not blow away.

Quartz Magazine says hackers recently disabled refrigeration units at hundreds of French supermarkets. They forced cooling systems into a continuous defrost cycle.  Refrigerator and freezer temperatures reached as high as 50 degrees.  Stores had to throw away spoiled meat, frozen goods and vegetables.

Fox News says a bumbling criminal recently broke into an Arizona tech company's office and stole what he thought were dozens of Mac Mini computers. The boxes turned out to be empty because all of the computers were already set up on their respective desks. Surveillance footage shows the man entering through a window before leaving with the empty boxes. The business owner is offering a $1,500 reward to anyone with information that leads to the suspect's arrest.
