How To Adjust Your Sleep Schedule For The Time Change: In just over a week we “fall back,” and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine Foundation is getting the word out on how to prepare for the end of Daylight Saving Time. The foundation notes that "Chronically sleep-deprived people are among the most impacted by the circadian misalignment caused by the time switch." Teens, night-shift workers, and older adults are most impacted. The foundation suggests a precise timeline to use to get your body balanced:

Wednesday, Oct. 28: Go to bed at 10:20 p.m. and wake up at 6:20 a.m.
Thursday, Oct. 29: Go to bed at 10:40 p.m. and wake up at 6:40 a.m.
Friday, Oct. 30: Go to bed at 11 p.m. and wake up at 7 a.m.
Saturday, Oct. 31: use the same schedule as Oct. 28.
Another piece of advice from experts is to skip caffeine in late day.

What is the worst thing a guest has ever done in your home? (AskReddit)

Some responses:

Guests visited from overseas, went home, and took my good towels with them. Not a word.

She was eating peanuts at my kitchen table, just letting the shells pile up in front of her. Then she took her arm and brushed them right into the floor like we were at a Texas Roadhouse restaurant.

My “best” friend came over to bring me dinner. I had just had a baby. Her bringing me dinner consisted of her bringing her whole family and cooking spaghetti at my house, getting red sauce splattered everywhere. Boiling over the noodles. Letting her 2 kids destroy every single room of my house. The play room furniture was even flipped over and you couldn’t see the floor. They ate and then left.

She clogged the toilet. But instead of asking for a plunger or telling us about it, she scooped out the poop and hid it in the cabinet below the sink. Couldn't believe it.

A friend’s six-year-old took all the board games out of the closet, dumped out the contents onto the floor, and then mixed everything up thoroughly. His excuse was that he was inventing a new game! His mother said that he was so clever for trying and, almost immediately after, told my wife the kid did the same thing at their house and that’s why his family didn’t have any board games or puzzles anymore. They left soon after and were never invited back.

During a house party, a girl we invited stole my roommate's phone, was able to get into his bank accounts and other accounts like e-trade. In less than 12 hours she was able to sell all his stocks, and then steal the money from his bank accounts.

My brother and his girlfriend came to my house for Thanksgiving. She brought a Jell-O-type salad, which we all assumed was her contribution to dinner and asked to put it in the refrigerator. Later in the day, she went to get the salad out and dropped it all over the floor, sending red Jell-O everywhere. My mother commented it was all right because there was plenty to eat. She then admitted the Jell-O salad was for her own mother’s Thanksgiving dinner.

Was living with my best friend when her parents came to visit from out of town. My sweet old man cat comes walking out, just heading towards his water dish for a little sip, and her dad KICKS my cat for “getting in his path.” Hadn’t even been there 2 hours. Told them to get the [eff] out.

Stole (and sold) my pet hedgehog, then trashed my house to make it look like a robbery. I had to explain to the responding officer what a hedgehog was.

Not me, but my sister told me about the time a friend of hers spent the night because she'd had too much to drink and she peed on her couch, flipped the couch cushions over, and was out of the house before my sis and her husband woke up.

My sister was changing her baby on the bed just before they left and the kid peed a geyser all over the bed. Didn't say a word and left. The next day, we found a very wet pee-soaked mattress.

Drank an entire (unopened) bottle of alcohol that was given as a housewarming gift. Refilled the bottle with water and put it back on the shelf.

Took a hot pot off the burner and put it directly on my Formica countertop. Burned a deep round scar in the countertop. She brushed it off by saying, "that will buff out." I had to replace the countertops and I never spoke to her again.
