Valley County Commissioners Seeking Public Input on Proposed Grant for Valley View Home

The Valley County Commissioners are moving forward with a federal grant application aimed at bringing major facility and infrastructure upgrades to Valley View Home in Glasgow, and a second opportunity for public input has been formally scheduled.

The county is seeking Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding through the Montana Department of Commerce to modernize infrastructure at the 96-bed skilled nursing center located at 1225 Perry Lane.

The proposed project focuses on critical health, safety, and operational enhancements at the facility. Key upgrades planned on the project list include a comprehensive overhaul of the building's heating and cooling (HVAC) systems, the replacement of aging kitchen infrastructure—such as high-capacity walk-in freezers—and improvements to emergency backup power and facility security. At the upcoming meeting, officials will explain these activities alongside the overall project budget and possible funding sources.
A second public hearing to review these project details and gather community feedback is scheduled for Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at 5:30 PM. The hearing will take place directly at the facility in the Valley View Home Conference Room.

All interested persons are invited to attend to ask questions and express their opinions regarding the upgrades. For those unable to attend in person, written comments can be submitted prior to the meeting but must be received before 12:00 PM on Wednesday, October 28th.
Anyone looking for more details or wishing to submit advance questions or comments should contact Madi Saylor, Community Development Director at Great Northern Development Corporation, at 406-653-2590 ext. 204.
