One-Hit Wonder: AUTOBAHN    KRAFTWERK    #25 in 1975 (Rock N Roll Hall of Fame song)

Progressive-rock band formed in Dusseldorf, Germany: Ralf Hutter (keyboards), Florian Schneider (woodwinds), Klaus Roeder (guitar) and Wolfgang Flur (drums). AWARD: Grammy: Lifetime Achievement 2014.

The album version is 22 minutes long and was intended to reproduce a journey on the motorway. Band member Ralf Hutter recorded the passing cars in the background by dangling a microphone out of his old grey Volkswagen window as it traveled down an autobahn. However, these recordings were not suitable for the song, so they recreated the car sounds using synthesizers.
Autobahn is the German word for a major high-speed road usually linking one or more cities and towns, similar to motorway or freeway in English-speaking countries.

In America, the edited version of this song was Kraftwerk's only hit, but they had many more in the UK. In February 1982, their double-A-side "The Model" and "Computer Love" topped the British charts, making Kraftwerk the first German act to reach #1 in the UK.

How often do you wake up in the middle of the night? It can be frustrating when it happens, but it can also be a normal part of your sleep pattern, according to Dr. Ruchir Patel, who specializes in sleep medicine. But it could be an issue if you wake up more often than average or stay up longer when you do.

So, how often is “normal” to wake up during the night? It all depends on your age. Dr. Patel says these benchmarks are considered normal:

Young adults - one or two times

Middle-age adults - two to three times

Older adults - three to five times

But even if you fall into the “normal” rage for your age group, the sleep expert says you should be able to fall back to sleep within 30 minutes or less. And if waking up at night is interfering with your daily life, sleep medicine specialist Dr. Morgan Soffler advises talking with your doctor because a lot of things can interfere with sleep quality. Reasons people often wake up at night include:

Being majorly stressed - Research shows a lot of people with insomnia tend to have high levels of cortisol, the stress hormone.

Undiagnosed sleep apnea - Signs include snoring, waking up gasping and excessive daytime sleepiness.

Twitchy legs - About 15% of U.S. adults have restless leg syndrome, which tends to be worse at night.

Itchy skin - Eczema itching can also be worse at night, making it harder to fall or stay asleep.

The bedroom is too hot - The National Sleep Foundation recommends sleeping in a cool room between 65 and 68 degrees.

Doomscrolling - It’s not just the blue light from your phone that could keep you awake, but the stimulating content and endless scrolling.

Hormonal changes - During pregnancy, menopause, or just getting older, fluctuations in hormone levels can keep women up at night.⠀

The NY Post says an eco-friendly Colorado Springs mansion made from various recyclables has hit the market for $1.3 million. The property was hand-crafted in 1997 from over 1,500 recycled tires, aluminum cans, glass bottles, and mud. Listing agent Jennifer Browne says, "It took the sellers just under three years to build the home, and they did 90% of the work themselves. The next buyer will be someone, who wants to feel connected to nature. It will be someone, who is looking for an experience to feel more a part of the Earth."

Ferrari has officially entered the EV era with the debut of the Luce, a fully electric luxury vehicle designed with help from former Apple design chief Jony Ive and his LoveFrom team. The sleek five-seater, priced around $640-thousand, blends Ferrari’s signature performance with family-friendly touches like roomy seating, high-end tech, and a large trunk, while still delivering more than 1,000 horsepower and a top speed above 190 mph. Ferrari says the Luce keeps the emotional feel of its gas-powered icons by amplifying natural EV vibrations, even as the company bets that younger luxury buyers will embrace a more high-tech future. The futuristic design also signals a major style shift for the brand, with a larger body, expansive glass features, and a more refined interior packed with leather, aluminum, and physical controls instead of oversized touchscreens.

Everett, Washington, firefighters spent about 20 minutes Monday extracting a man who climbed onto the roof of a vacant home and jumped into the chimney to avoid police, dropping about 10 feet. Officers had been responding to a trespassing complaint and attempting to make contact with the man when he scrambled up and jumped in. When firefighters arrived, the man had worked his way down the flue and refused to be pulled back up, working himself further down instead. There was no active fire, but residual ash was in the fireplace. Crews removed the mantle and opened the wall to get him out. The man was taken into custody and transported to a hospital for evaluation.

McComiskey was already out on bail for a separate crime and is being held without bail pending arraignment.
