Even with AI reshaping so many industries, most Gen Alpha kids still see themselves in hands-on careers. A survey of kids ages 5 to 16 found that 85% want jobs where they can build or fix things — not just to stay busy, but to help others and tap into their creativity. What stands out is how positively they view skilled trades: most already understand those jobs, see them as important, and nearly 70% would consider one themselves. Parents are largely supportive, too, drawn to the income potential and work‑life balance, and they’re starting career conversations earlier than ever — even as young as five. In the end, it’s less about chasing tech trends and more about fulfillment, with families putting more value on happiness, purpose, and real-world skills than just making the most money.

Back in April 2025, a team of scientists used DNA from a fossilized Tyrannosaurus rex to create a lab-grown leather T. rex handbag. The big idea was to sell this thing at auction for somewhere between $400,000 and $650,000. Well, the scientists created the handbag. It went up for auction. And it sold for "only" $200,000. That's still a lot of money, of course. But it seems the market for dinosaur purses is a bit softer than expected.

Reverse psychology won’t work on the police. Police in Laurel County, Kentucky, say they were called to a business following a report of a vehicle parked in an employee-only parking area. Sounds typical… until an officer spotted a bag in the car that read "definitely not a bag full of drugs." Obviously, officers searched the vehicle and found suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia in the bag. Damon Bennett was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear and Tricia Croley was taken into custody on multiple charges, including giving an officer false identifying information and possession of a controlled substance.
