A new survey by People Matters reveals that 40% of workers admit to sabotaging a colleague to advance their career. Other findings:

- Gen Z’ers and millennials are twice as likely as Gen X’ers and Baby Boomers to engage in workplace sabotage

- Career advancement and self-preservation are the main motivations behind workplace sabotage

-61% of people say they have been thrown under the bus at work

-33% of people have witnessed workplace backstabbing

-73% of people say they have never thrown a colleague under the bus, but have experienced it themselves 

-26% of people have blamed colleagues for their own mistakes 

-21% of workers have shared negative information about colleagues with their managers 

-6% of workers have deliberately set up someone to fail 

-25% of people say their manager has deliberately set them up to fail

We’ve had a lot of foreigners visiting the U.S. for the first time this summer thanks to the FIFA World Cup and a lot of them have been pleasantly surprised by our country. A Reddit post has them sharing what they learned by asking, “People visiting the USA for the first time, what has been your biggest misconception about the USA?”

Here’s what shocked them most, from the positive to the painfully accurate:

"The size of Lake Michigan. I asked other passengers what ocean we were flying over."

"I thought the 'everything is bigger in America' thing was a joke. Then I ordered a medium drink."

"To be honest, people were way nicer than I expected. I don’t mean the service staff etc. People in general were nice to us and each other. Had no weird interactions during our visit."

"There's so much sky. Any time I say this to anybody, they look at me like I'm nuts. I live in a huge British city where there are skyscrapers and huge buildings everywhere all densely packed together, and I feel like in a way it 'blinds' you to anything else around you."

Engineers at Northwestern University have built a wild new drone called the "Phantom Twist" that's pretty much invisible while flying. The engineers were able to pull off this trick because the human eye — and our perception of what we see — isn’t perfect. They designed the drone to be mostly empty space and by spinning it at a certain speed, our brain can't process the motion. Our eyes just blend the spinning parts into a transparent blur with the background, which allows this thing to zip around us without us being able to see it.

Deadline Hollywood says a Top Gun attraction is being planned for the Las Vegas Strip.  Visitors will find dining and shopping options as part of the immersive experience.  The attraction will be called "Top Gun Vegas”.

The Daily Express says China recently banned AI boyfriends and girlfriends. The rules took effect on July 15th. China enacted the ban because they do not want AI love apps to induce emotional dependence or harm real life relationships.

Allrecipes says Cheez-It Crackers and Coors Light are teaming up for a new cracker called the Coors Light Beer Cheese Cracker.  The crackers have a hoppy taste without any actual alcohol.  They are going to be available for a limited time

The Star Tribune says Minnesota state fairs are going viral for their drinks this year.  Vendors are selling a Ranch dressing cream ale and a dill pickle seltzer.

TMZ says the members of the Village People recently attended Victor Willis' funeral in their costumes. Willis, the founder of the band, died last month after a short illness. The current Village People sat in the front row as Willis was laid to rest.

Deputies in Florida rescued dozens of cats Monday from a Stuart home in what the sheriff called the worst animal hoarding case he has seen in Martin County. Authorities went to the house on Southwest Meadowlark Circle after investigating reports that a postal worker had been collecting feral cats along her mail route. Sheriff John Budensiek identified the homeowner as 77-year-old Gail Giustino, who he believes was gathering strays rather than stealing pets. Deputies got a search warrant after she allegedly refused to let animal control inside over the past week, and they found no working air conditioning, little ventilation, and up to a foot of animal feces on the floor in the home. The smell was so bad that a hazardous materials team had to ventilate the house first. Officials believe there could be 70 to 80 animals or more, including several dogs. Giustino faces two misdemeanor charges, filed mainly to remove the animals and get her help through mental health court.

A mother in England got a sour surprise when she opened her front door and found her milk delivery had vanished. When the Bearwood resident checked her doorbell camera, she was stunned to see a woman stroll up the driveway around 5 a.m. wearing nothing but black underwear, a crop top, and flip flops. The woman grabbed two bottles and made a quick getaway. The homeowner posted the footage on Facebook, where neighbors said their milk had gone missing too. She said the family was frustrated to see it, since they have two young children, but hoped the person was in desperate need. West Midlands Police confirmed they received a report of the theft.

Fox News says the Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida Police Chief recently resigned after having an affair with a suspect's wife. The Lake County Sheriff's Office found Michael Giddens violated policies on improper conduct and moral character. Investigators say the affair began after Giddens opened a case against the suspect in December 2024. He reached out to the man's wife and things progressed from there.

WKMG says a Lakeland, Florida man was recently arrested after a body wash heist at a Walgreens. Gerald Cobbs  and two accomplices entered the store. One of them distracted a clerk as the other two filled bags with $650 worth of body wash.  Officers identified the trio through surveillance video. The police said, “Cobbs is known to dress as a female. Further investigation revealed that Cobbs had recently been arrested by the Lakeland Police Department on an active  warrant and was already being held in the Polk County Jail.”
