RCSO Seeks Public's Help Solving Crime of Damaged License Plate Reader

Press Release from Roosevelt County Sheriff's Office:

We are offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person who did this. Please contact RCSO dispatch at 406-653-6240 with any information about this crime.

They cut down an LPR (License Plate Reader) used to fight crime in our area. It is NOT a Flock camera.

It's important to understand that these license plate readers are used for critically important investigations, including drug trafficking, human trafficking, locating stolen vehicles, locating kidnapped/endangered children, etc.

For example, all license plates connected to Amber Alerts are entered into the LPR database and LPRs have been directly responsible for saving the lives of children.

Damaging license plate readers puts lives at risk, plain and simple.
