Long, warm summer evenings are perfect for firing up the grill, but what are Americans putting over those flames? New research reveals that people across the country seem to agree on their favorite foods to grill.

A new report by Innerbody Research analyzes Google Trends data nationwide, comparing search trends for terms like “grilled corn” and “grilled ribeye” to see what’s on the menu at cookouts this grilling season.

Beef is the winner, topping the grilling searches in 18 states.
It lands in the top 10 four times with burgers, ribeye, ribs and filet mignon.
Chicken is a close second, with chicken breasts, thighs and wings all earning top 10 spots.
Chicken wings are very popular in the South and Midwest, topping searches in Alabama, Florida, Mississippi and Tennessee.
But it’s not all meat; veggies lead the ranking in eight states and grilled fruit is top in two states - Ohio, where they’re searching for grilled peaches, while in Idaho, it’s grilled pineapple.
Corn is America’s favorite grilled vegetable. “Grilled corn” searches are fourth nationwide, beating out cookout staples like hot dogs and ribs. Asparagus is the only other veggie to crack the top 10, coming in tenth.
