Do you love getting lost in a musical loop and listening to the same songs and artists over and over again? New research suggests you’re in good company because a lot of people do.

According to a new survey of 2-thousand adults who describe themselves as serious music fans, 70% listen to the same tracks and albums on repeat.

All that repetition means they listen to their favorite song 343 times a year on average, and only have six artists in their rotation at one time.

While that may get boring to some, 27% say they’re content with being stuck in their loop and don’t want to broaden their musical horizons.

Nearly two-thirds (64%) listen to the same songs because they “like what they like,” while others find it comforting (50%) and nostalgic (50%), another 36% claim they’re just creatures of habit.

The survey also reveals that 41% haven’t listened to an album from start to finish in the last year and 8% claim they never have.

But some are ready to expand their interests, including 65% who want to listen to new music.
Festivals help a lot of fans find new artists they like, 17% say they often discover new ones when they attend one.

With so many music festivals happening during the summer, it’s the ideal season to step out of your comfort zone and give new music a chance. If you’re lucky, you’ll find your next favorite artist or song to listen to on repeat hundreds of times until next summer.⠀

We’ve all heard classic relationship advice like “pick your battles” and “don’t go to bed angry,” but one TikToker was looking for tips that are more unconventional and somehow always work. She asked her followers to share their “most unhinged marriage hacks,” the “truly wild and insane things” they’ve been too embarrassed to share before. And they did not let her down.

Some of the best tips they shared:

“When he annoys me, I move his bookmark back a few pages. So satisfying.”

“I tell him made up stories about things my ‘friend’s husband’ did and finish with, ‘I’m so glad you don’t do that,’ but they’re all things he does that I don’t like. He self-corrects.”

“We have a decision coin with our names that we flip when both of us ‘don’t care’ on whatever we can’t come to a joint decision on, like food. The name it lands on must make the choice. The coin is law.”

“I Zelle request money from him for minor inconveniences … forget to start the dishwasher $25, etc.”

“We have a 5 second rule. You have five seconds after you say something you regret to say ‘5 second rule’ and it’s erased. It’s saved many arguments.”

“We have scheduled arguments. Every 2 weeks. ‘Biweekly beef.’ We bring up any and all complaints. Everything from serious stuff to ‘I didn’t appreciate how you farted last week.’ It’s very effective.”

“When I’ve asked him to do a project more than twice, I get out all the wrong power tools and act like I’m going to start doing it. Works every time.”
