Glasgow City Council Notes

The Glasgow City Council met in regular session on Monday. 

Action items taken by the council:

The council passed a resolution appointing Chris Duros as a Firefighter with the Glasgow Fire Department.

Approved a park permit for Norval Electric Cooperative for the use of Bundy Park for an employee bbq.

Approved a payment of $20,000 to Great West Engineering for the levee accrediation grant application. The city is hoping to receive over $3 million in federal funding to certify the Glasgow Levee.

Hired LC Staffing to assist the city with the search for a Public Works Director. If a person is hired for the PW position with the help of LC Staffing, the city will pay the company 25% of the first year salary.

Approved an increase in wage for Renee Jones of the Glasgow Police Department and Rod Dees who serves as the Code Compliance Officer for the City of Glasgow. 

Tabled a decision on hiring a full time employee to service the Glasgow Levee. This would have been a new FTE for the city.

Voted to discontinue a contract with Daupler which was a notification service used for city residents. Only 110 city residents were using the notification service which cost the city $5000 last year. 

The council will move forward with making a conditional contract offer to the top scoring candidate for Chief of Police. If the candidate accepts the conditional offer, then a background check will commence.
