Tim's News You Can't Use
Want to set yourself up for a great day? Take a walk first thing in the morning. Spending even a little time outside every morning can have surprisingly big benefits for your body and brain. Just 20 minutes of early daylight helps regulate your circadian rhythm, which can improve focus during the day and lead to better sleep at night. Morning sunlight also boosts feel‑good brain chemicals like serotonin and dopamine, helping lift your mood and calm your nervous system. Being outdoors first thing in the morning is grounding, too — fresh air, natural sounds, and gentle movement can help break stress cycles before the day really starts. You don’t need a workout or a long walk, either. Sitting on your porch, stepping outside with your coffee, or taking a quick stroll is enough to make a difference.

A zebra named Zeus is on the loose, and if this story sounds familiar to you, it should -- because it's the second time it's happened this week. Just a few days after Zeus escaped from his enclosure in Northern California and went for a jog around the Sacramento area before being wrangled and brought back home, Zeus got out again and wandered around the town of Lincoln. Animal officials, who had become well acquainted with Zeus, tracked him down right away and led him back home. They believe Zeus is still getting accustomed to his new home and keeps getting spooked. Fortunately, he hasn't been hurt.

The founder of SantaCon is facing federal charges for allegedly stealing more than a million dollars meant for charity through the event. Prosecutors say Stefan Pildes misled thousands of participants by claiming ticket proceeds would benefit local charities. Pildes is accused of diverting more than half of the roughly two-and-a-half-million-dollars raised since 2019 for personal use. Pildes allegedly used the money on luxury expenses, including vacations, dining, and property renovations. He is charged with wire fraud as the investigation continues. SantaCon is basically a New York City bar crawl for people dressed as Santa Claus and usually ends up with the Santa’s getting too boozed up.
