Chemistry and grand gestures can be important in a relationship, but they only get you so far. A new Reddit thread suggests what keeps couples going strong in the long run may not be as exciting, but it works.
The post asks, “Couples who have been together 10+ years and are actually still happy, what's the 'unromantic' secret to your success?” And these are some of the most refreshingly honest responses.
"Don't keep score. Things aren't 50/50, they're 100/100. The moment you start tracking how much you do and how much they do is the beginning of the end."
"You need to pick someone you'd want to be friends with, even if it wasn’t romantic."
"Realize that feelings come and go, but true love is better spelled 'Commitment.' Days when you wake up and think, 'Why them?' are also going to be the days the grass looks greener. Stay put, don't stray — the days of 'Oh Yeah!' will return.”
"I've been married 19 years. One I’ll add is that we agree on the big stuff, and when we disagree, the one that cares more wins. I guess the TLDR version is 'choose your battles.'"
"Humor. We make each other laugh all the time."
"Be nice to each other. Sounds simple, but a lot of couples fall into the trap of saving the worst of themselves for each other."
"Separate bedrooms! I'd lose my MIND if we had to sleep in the same bed at this point.”
"Don't take each other for granted. I thank my husband for washing the dishes. He thanks me for doing the laundry. Just because they’re our agreed-upon split of household tasks and they have been since we moved in together, it does not mean we appreciate each other any less."
"Communication and separate bank accounts.”
"Staying hot, TBH. We both maintain our hygiene, are about the same weight from when we met (even after four kids), and still enjoy sex every day."
"Have separate blankets at night. Being able to pull and bundle up the covers without taking them away from your partner is the surest way to happiness."
“My parents have been together 28 years, and my mom says the secret is they actually LIKE each other as people. Not just love, but genuinely enjoy hanging out. Sounds simple, but so many couples can't say that."
"We've been together 25 years, and here's what I'll say: You have to want to have sex with each other regularly. If you're mismatched in terms of drive, both parties have to work on it together.”

Turns out even a super short nap can seriously level up your day, with experts saying just five minutes of light sleep can boost alertness, creativity, and overall brain function. Napping helps your body switch out of stress mode and into a restorative state, improving everything from memory to emotional processing and even heart health. And while actual sleep has the biggest benefits, simple rest, like walking, meditating, or just unplugging, can still give your body a much-needed reset. Basically, whether you’re power-napping or just chilling out, giving yourself a quick break might be one of the easiest ways to feel better fast.

Keeping track of where to watch baseball games in the age of cable cutting and streaming services has been a rough challenge. For example, a New York Yankees fan will need access to nine networks or streamers for the 161 games they have left —YES (their cable network), Amazon Prime (which shows 21 local games a season), NBC/Peacock, ESPN, ABC, FOX, FS1, TBS and Apple TV. To ease the pain, MLB has launched a new site, MLB.com/Watch, that will clearly show what networks or streamers are showing each game.

Spring break isn’t just sun and selfies anymore, it’s serious cash season for Gen Z influencers who are treating beach trips like full-on business trips. Popular creators are packing multiple outfits, filming nonstop, and scoring brand deals that can bring in anywhere from $5-thousand to over $20-thousand per post, with bigger influencers earning even more through product placements. Instead of partying, these influencers are waking up early, chasing perfect lighting, and cranking out content across multiple social platforms to keep brands (and followers) engaged. It may look like a dream vacation, but behind the scenes it’s packed schedules, constant filming, and a lot of hustle, all while making it seem effortless.

What would you do if you found your car all of a sudden missing from the spot where you knew you parked it. In Philadelphia, Annie Taylor and her husband experienced that firsthand, when a tree service contractor moved their car without their knowledge to a no-parking zone…which they learned about after searching for the vehicle for two weeks. Having placed an AirTag tracker in the car, they were able to find it in a Philadelphia Parking Authority impound lot, where it had been towed. It turns out, after viewing security video, that the tree service used dollies to push the car to the opposite side of the street, where parking wasn’t permitted, so they could do their work. The good news is that the tree service has offered to pay the $175 impound fee, but a complaint is still being filed with the PPA because the car was damaged at some point during the ordeal.
