Mary Ann (Johnson) Carson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Mary Ann (Johnson) Carson.

A long-time resident of Fort Peck and Glasgow, Mary Ann passed away with family by her side on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow.

The daughter of Joseph A. Johnson and Mary Erickson Johnson, she was born on January 10, 1930, at home in Brockton, Montana. Most of her younger life was spent in Brockton, where she attended grade school and graduated from high school in a class of five in 1948.

Mary Ann is survived by her children, Mary Jo Berry (Bruce) of Superior, Montana, Ginger Rice (Jerry) of Belgrade, Montana, Rick Carson (Melissa) of Montrose, Colorado, and Debbie Heitman (Butch) of Glasgow; sisters, Juanita Hagen and Joan Burns of Glasgow, Sally Strom of Billings, brothers Jeff Johnson of Fort Peck and John Johnson of Glasgow; 11 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and a great great grandchild due in May; many nieces, nephews and cousins besides many other extended family, including Tan Leckie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers William and Mike, niece Cindy Hagen, and her loving husband of 67 years, Joseph L. Carson.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the First Lutheran Church with Max Knodel officiating. A reception will be held at the Glasgow Elks Club immediately after the memorial. Family burial will be at the Fort Peck Cemetery.

Mom, we'll miss your goofy sense of humor, our weekly phone calls and your cookie jar full of family favorite chocolate chip cookies.
