Timothy H. Potter

Tim Potter passed away peacefully at home on June 10, 2026, surrounded by his family after a short but courageous battle with lung cancer.

Tim was born on October 1, 1954, in Glasgow, Montana, to Harold and Mary (Wilson) Potter. He graduated from Glasgow High School in 1973 and went on to attend trade school in Billings. While attending a dance at the Ridge Runners, he met the love of his life, Ann Franzen. The two were married on June 5, 1976, and recently celebrated 50 wonderful years of marriage.

Together, Tim and Ann built a life centered on family, hard work, and laughter. They were blessed with four children: Tim (Saralyn) Potter, Marie (Jeremy) Donaldson, Katie (Jeremy) Potter, and Fred (Katy) Potter.

Tim worked as a mechanic at Farm Equipment Sales for 24 years before pursuing his true passion for farming full-time. He loved farming and was especially known for putting up excellent hay. His strong work ethics, mechanical skills, and dedication to the land were admired by many.

Outside of work, Tim enjoyed stock car racing, NASCAR, and gambling—where he seemed to always be winning. He loved spending time with his boys building derby cars, serving as their pit crew chief, and constructing every Herby Derby car, which he enjoyed driving whenever he could. Tim found great joy in hunting, fishing, boating, traveling with family, and cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events.

He loved spending time with his grandchildren, attending their activities, and making memories with them whenever he could. He took great pride in each of their accomplishments. He also shared a special friendship with his beloved dog, Missy, who was a great companion.

Tim was preceded in death by his father, Harold Potter; his brother, Marvin Potter; his sister, Marilyn Carson; and his best friends Myron “Magoo” Blanchard and Lyle Franzen.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Ann Potter; his children, Tim (Saralyn) Potter, Marie (Jeremy) Donaldson, Katie (Jeremy) Potter, and Fred (Katy) Potter; his grandchildren, Mason, Jacob, Brynn, Braxton, Leah, Alex, and Ethan; his mother, Mary Potter; his brother, Lloyd Potter; and his sisters, Joy (Tom) See, Kelly (Dale) Taylor, and Jennie (Todd) McMichael. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who meant the world to him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Bell Mortuary, with a reception to follow at the Elks in Glasgow. Friends and family are invited to stop by, share memories, and celebrate Tim's life. Online condolences may be left for the family at bellmortuarymt.com.

Tim’s hard work, humor, and dedication to his family will never be forgotten. His legacy will live on in the people he loved so dearly and in the many memories shared by those fortunate enough to know him.
