Lucille G. Awtrey

Lucille G. Awtrey, 85, of Glasgow, Montana passed away July 7, 2026, at Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow, Montana.

Lucille was born September 2, 1940, in Opheim, Montana to Gertrude Neihoff and John Zimmer.  She graduated from Opheim High School.

She married James Awtrey, then six years later adopted LuAnn.  Her beloved son, Matthew followed four years later. The family resided in Odessa, Texas.  After living there many years, she eventually made her way back to her roots in Glasgow, Montana. Back in Northeastern Montana she was surrounded by a close-knit kinship network of friends and family. 

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, twelve siblings, former husband and one grandchild.  Lucille is survived by her adopted daughter, LuAnn Awtrey of Denton, Texas, her son, Matthew Awtrey of Vail, Colorado, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Family received friends Friday, July 17, 2026, at Nemont Manor from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m.  A reception was held Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Parish, Glentana Hall in Glentana followed by the scattering of her ashes.  Condolences for the family may be left at bellmortuarymt.com.
