Glasgow Blanks Shelby 35-0 For Homecoming Victory

Glasgow shutout Shelby by a score of 35-0 on Homecoming in Glasgow on Friday night. The Scotties employed a employed a crushing ground attack, rushing for 213 yards as a team, with 3 rushing touchdowns, on their way to the conference victory. The Scotties were also efficient through the air, as quarterback Cody Kuka finished 10-18 passing, for 156 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. Kuka also finished the game with 2 rushing touchdowns.

Glasgow would find the scoreboard 3 times in the first half, all on the ground; as Kuka scored on touchdown runs of 6 and 21 yards, while Liam Chapman had a 2 yard rushing touchdown for the Scotties. Glasgow would go into the locker room with a 20-0 halftime lead. The Scotties would only add on to their lead from that point, as Tyrus Hartwell would score on a shovel pass from Cody Kuka from 14 yards out with 10:11 to play in the football game. Kuka would pass for one more touchdown as he hit Cade Hudyma from 18 yards out in the corner of the end zone with 5:39 remaining, for his second touchdown pass of the night. 

Glasgow was led in rushing by Liam Chapman, who finished the game with 15 carries for 65 yards and 2 touchdowns. Reece Martin finshed with 55 yards on 9 carries for Glasgow. The duo combined for 120 yards on the ground. Cody Kuka also finished with 53 yards on 4 carries, and freshman Tyrus Hartwell added 4 carries for 26 yards; while also catching a TD pass for 14 yards on a shovel pass from Kuka. 

Kuka finished the game with 156 yards on 10-18 passing, with 1 interception. Glasgow saw 6 different receivers catch passes, led by Tay Morehouse who finished with 3 receptions for 57 yards. Cade Hudyma had one touchdwon reception for 18 yards for Glasgow. 

Shelby was led offensively by Junior fullback Paxton Flesch, as he finsied with 19 carries for 45 yards. Quarterback Cael Bleveins added 4 carries for 23 yards. Shelby finished the game with just 5 passing yards, and 73 total yards. Glasgow outgained Shelby by a margin of 369-73.

With the win, Glasgow moves to 4-0 on the season, and are now 2-0 in conference play. Shelby falls to 2-2, and are now 1-1 in Northern B play. Glasgow will travel to Fairfield next Friday night, September 26th to take on the Eagles. Shelby will be idle next week, but will face Fairfield at home on October 2nd.
