Yvonne Marie Swanson Johnson

Yvonne Marie Swanson Johnson was born May 26, 1947, to Edwin Victor Swanson and Barbara Mae (Duncan) Swanson. She grew up on the family farm north of Hinsdale, Montana, where she developed a strong work ethic. At age 17, she moved to Glasgow, Montana, where she spent most of her life.

Yvonne is survived by her siblings: sister, Connie, and brothers, John, Jeffrey, and Marc. She is also remembered by many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

She married Daniel Laverne Lasar, and together they welcomed two children, Randy Lee Lasar and Jennifer Jo (Lasar) Crawford. She later married Smiley Johnson.

Yvonne’s legacy continues through her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Justin and Katie Eggen — Aubrey and Jett; Jarett and Livy Eggen — Logan, Hadley, and Rowley; Jacy Desmond — Pete and Bodhi; Randall and beloved dog Huckleberry; Jacob McKenna — Sojourner; Mychael — Kade and Jaxson; Cortney and Brian — Kase and Lola; Rylan and Zoey; Aiden, Jerny and Lilliana.

Yvonne had a gift for helping people feel beautiful and confident through her love of doing hair. She proudly served her community as an EMT with the Glasgow ambulance, a role she deeply valued and one that reflected her courageous spirit.

She cherished her Yorkshire terriers, Abby and Maddy. They were constant companions and brought her great comfort and joy.

She also loved playing cards and never passed up a good game.

Yvonne passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026 while surrounded by her family. The words of Psalm 16:11 (NLT) offer comfort: “You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.”

Yvonne will be remembered for her resilience, her service to others, and the lives she touched throughout her years.

A funeral service will be held Monday, March 9, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Bell Mortuary with Max Knodel officiating.  Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery and a reception will be back at Bell Mortuary following the burial.  Online condolences may be left for the family at bellmortuarymt.com.
