Tadd Richard Fuhrman

Tadd Richard Fuhrman, 45, of Missoula, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, in Townsend, Montana.

Tadd was born on July 26, 1980, in Glasgow to Richard and Judy Fuhrman. He was the middle child of six children. As a baby, Tadd was so chunky that he lovingly earned the nickname “Bubba,” a name that stayed with him throughout his life among family and close friends.

Tadd spent the early part of his childhood growing up on the family farm and ranch south of Richland. He often spoke fondly of the memories he made helping with ranch and farm work, and a part of him always remained connected to that way of life. He attended school in Opheim and Jordan before moving to Glasgow in eighth grade, graduating from Glasgow High School in 1998. It was there that he formed many lifelong friendships.

As a child, Tadd loved sports. He played baseball for the Opheim team during the hot Eastern Montana summers and was selected to the all-star baseball team. While attending Glasgow High School, he played basketball for a year, but football was his true passion. He proudly wore jersey number 44 throughout all four years of high school, playing defensive end and tight end.

After high school, Tadd attended University of Mary in Bismarck before transferring to the University of Montana in Missoula where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business management with a minor in marketing. While working in Missoula, he met Kelli Gibbs through a mutual friend. They married in 2010 and moved to Minnesota where they welcomed the birth of their daughter, Hayden. Tadd always had nicknames for others and nicknamed Hayden "Squirt."

After moving back to Montana in 2013, Tadd started a sales career with Graybar which sent him traveling across northern Wyoming and Montana. Tadd loved remaining connected to high school friends and meeting them for rounds of golf at Old Works in Anaconda. He had also started a goal of going to every NFL stadium to watch a game.

Tadd was quick-witted, irreverent, and loved to bring humor to every situation. He especially loved to affectionately "poke the bear," especially his mother and wife. Through his travels, he never met a stranger with his conversationalist demeanor and adored having his ill-mannered furry friend, Rosey (Robear), by his side wherever he went. His first pup Holli (Peeps) didn't enjoy traveling, so he found Rosey, who was always willing to jump in the truck and be by his side.

Together, he and his wife realized their dream when they opened the Canyon Ferry Brewery in 2019 with Tadd running the front of the house and Kelli as their brewmaster. Today, their brewery remains a favorite among locals and boaters on Townsend's Main Street.

Tadd shared his love of The Simpsons with his daughter, who would watch these with much amusement with her Dad. They watched every episode together and created their own insider knowledge and hand gestures as means of communication that was special between this dad-daughter duo. He also shared his love of 90's country with Hayden, and they would jam out passing the miles away to Townsend or Glasgow together.

Tadd is preceded in death by his father, Richard Fuhrman, who passed away unexpectedly on April 20, 2026.

Tadd is survived by his wife, Kelli Gibbs, and their daughter, Hayden Fuhrman of Missoula; his mother Judy Fuhrman of Glasgow; and siblings Konrich (Cheri) Fuhrman of Thompson Falls; Todd (Ronda) Fuhrman of Richland; Tana (Mike Weaver) Fuhrman of Missoula; Tigh (Stephanie) Fuhrman of Opheim; and Tami (Garth) Loftsgaard of Glasgow.

He also leaves behind nieces and nephews: Luke (Stephanie)Fuhrman and Gage (Anna) Fuhrman, both of Thompson Falls; Tyra (Jeret) Warren of Malta; Tevan Fuhrman of Williston; and Ainsley, Tate, Avi, and Tegan Loftsgaard of Glasgow; as well as his great nephews and nieces Konrich, Colter, Tris, and Tade.

A Roman Catholic Funeral Mass was held on Friday, May 15th at 11:00 a.m. at Christ the King parish in Missoula with Father John B. Wang presiding and Scott "Ski" Kaminski, a pallbearer. A livestream of the funeral Mass will be available on the parish's website. A luncheon and words of remembrance was held at the parish's basement hall following the conclusion of the funeral Mass. A dual celebration of life, along with his recently deceased father, will be held in Opheim on May 23rd at The Mint Bar from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, please continue Tadd's saving work by contributing to funding his daughter's education. Checks can be made out to Hayden Fuhrman and sent to Loyola Sacred Heart High School, 320 Edith St., Missoula, MT 59801.
