Kathryn ”Kathy” Muriel Talks Different

Kathryn ”Kathy” Muriel Talks Different “Shunga Wachi-Dancing Dog” age 70 of Frazer, Montana passed away May 5, 2026 at Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital. She was the 2nd child born to Ruby Mae Four Star Runs Through and Wallace Merle Runs Through, Sr. on July 14, 1955 in Poplar, Montana. She was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Kathy received her diploma through Frazer High School with the class of 1973. During her junior year in high school, she also participated in the Lamanite placement program and stayed with the Christianson Family in Royal City, Washington. She worked for the Frazer school as a Janitor when she was a Senior through the youth program. Kathy met the love of her life Sherman Joseph Talks Different, Sr at the Red Bottom Celebration and 5 months later they were married on Thanksgiving day November 22nd 1973  at her family home in Frazer, Montana. She said it was love at first sight. Through this marriage she gained 8 children along with a step-son, as well as many sisters & brothers.

She attended college at MSU Northern in Havre, Montana and worked as a teacher’s aide at the Frazer Public School for a number of years and she also worked as a CNA at the Faith Lutheran Home & Trinity Hospital. Later making their home in Hays, Montana. Kathy loved to sew & quilt. She made clothes for her children, doll clothes, patch quilts, star quilts & dance regalia. She was a really good artist & loved to create and make things. She liked puzzle books with cryptograms being her favorite. She loved to play scrabble & yahtzee. Her husband taught her to play whist & cribbage. She loved to sing & whistle a tune when she was busy cleaning or washing & hanging up clothes. Kathy had a beautiful spirit. She loved her Family lotz&lotz.

She is survived by her children Sherman Talks Different Jr. of Wolf Point, Cicely (Joseph) Raining Bird of Oswego, Otis (Samantha) Talks Different of Browning, Logan Talks Different Sr. of Frazer, Marian (Fredrick) Old Person of Frazer, Iree Talks Different, Sr. of Frazer, Irene Talks Different of Frazer. Grandchildren; Tristen, Ari, Jarom (Frankki), Alexander (Daniell), Hunter, Haidyn, Ozlyn, Odyn, Dalani, Logan Jr, Halle, Austin, Noah, Sherman, Ronyn, Takoa, Marick, Nayla, Katlin, Myree, Liam, Iree Jr, & Chloe. Great grandchildren; Loyal, Lilah, Lei’kan, Xairee, and Arias. Siblings; Debra Ramsey, Carol Runs Through, Brenda Hollowhorn, Janet (Jake) Good Bear, Janeen (Shane) Moran, Wallace Merle Runs Through, Jr. and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Sherman Talks Different Sr. son Jon Paul Talks Different, step-son Brian Castillo, her parents Wallace & Ruby Runs Through. Brothers Marion Runs Through, Sr., Thomas Runs Through and Arthur Runs Through. Sister Marva Runs Through. Nephews Trenton and Rilee Beston. Grandson Enright Beston.  Great grandchildren Wamni & Mahto Talks Different, Lucy Talks Different, Logan Talks Different III & Tyber James Raining Bird.

Service information:

4 Day Feed: 1 p.m., Friday, May 8, 2026 at the Community Center in Frazer

Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 2026 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Wolf Point

Burial: Oswego Presbyterian Cemetery with luncheon to follow at Wolf Point Community Hall.
