There are some cities you love to visit because they have amazing restaurants or cultural landmarks and experiences, but you’d never actually want to live there. And then there are places that you can imagine yourself living in when you travel there because you love them and they feel like they could be home. What makes a city an attractive home comes down to things like affordability and quality of life, and a new report reveals the most liveable cities in the world.

Digital entertainment platform JB analyzed 45 cities worldwide on six factors related to everyday life: quality of life, safety, healthcare access, air pollution levels, unemployment and disposable income.
The Swiss city of Zurich lands at number one, topping the list for safety, its low unemployment rate of 2.9%, and above-average access to healthcare.
Zurich also scores high for disposable income, with an average amount of $3,966 left after paying for housing and other living expenses.
Denmark’s capital and largest city, Copenhagen, comes in second. It has the highest quality of life score of all the top 10 cities, as well as the lowest unemployment rate at just 2.6%.
Only two U.S. cities crack the top 10, Seattle at number eight and Boston at 10.

MIT researchers have unlocked a manufacturing holy grail by 3D-printing a fully functional electric motor in just three hours — and using only 50 cents' worth of materials. The machine can switch between different types of metal and plastic on the fly, which pretty much eliminates the need for complex assembly lines and expensive shipping. This breakthrough means that, in the near future, factories, hospitals, and repair shops could be able to print their own high-quality replacement parts on-site the moment something breaks.

According to the police report, the 29-year-old was behind the wheel of a vehicle in the drive-thru lane around 1 AM when he engaged in a “brief discussion” with the fast food worker before going ballistic.
