A High Wind Warning is in effect for all of northeast Montana from 5 am to 9 pm Thursday. South winds in the early morning on Thursday will become west to northwest at 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 75 mph after 8 am. Travel along north/south highways such as Highways 13, 16, 24 and 191 will be difficult at times. Snow and blowing snow is also expected late tonight and Thursday, mainly north of the Missouri River, with near blizzard conditions at times.
A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for late Thursday night through Saturday afternoon for SW Phillips, Petroleum, and Garfield Counties. Heavy snow will move into the watch area late Thursday night and continue through Saturday afternoon. Meanwhile, the remainder of northeast Montana will have light snow at times on Friday and Saturday.
