The most popular dog breed in the U.S. isn’t actually a breed at all, according to a new study from Rover. The pet care site just came out with its annual ranking of the top breeds across the country.

Rover analyzed its database of dog breeds submitted by millions of pet parents to find out which breeds are America’s favorites in 2026.

So, which one is capturing the hearts of people nationwide? Non-designer mixed breeds are the most popular in the U.S.

Labrador retrievers come in second, followed by golden retrievers.

New to the top 20 list this year is the Australian cattle dog, also called blue or red heelers. They get a boost in popularity thanks to the kids’ show “Bluey.”

The breakout star on the trending dog breed list is the Pomsky, a husky-pomeranian mix. This list features the fastest-rising dog breeds ranked by year-over-year growth.

Toy poodles are number two, followed by Bernedoodles, miniature poodles and dachshunds.

According to a YouGov survey, 78% of Americans say they like meat-based burgers. Just 8% of those surveyed said they didn’t like burgers. When it comes to how we like them cooked, the survey found that 40% prefer their burgers well-done, 20% like them cooked medium-well, 17% like them medium, and 12% like them medium rare. Then there were the 2% of brave souls who like their burgers rare. Women are more likely to prefer their burgers well-done (47%) compared to men (33%).

And how are we topping those burgers? According to the survey, these are Americans' favorite burger toppings and condiments:

Chili’s is taking over a golf course in Burbank, California, for two days with a first-of-its-kind Chili’s Golf Club. This Friday and Saturday, DeBell Golf Club will serve fan favorites like the Triple Dipper along with event-only, golf-themed drinks including the Transfusion Marg and Tee Time Marg. You don’t actually have to play golf to join in, since visitors can stop by the event anytime between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. The restaurant chain is also teaming with activewear brand Rhoback on Chili’s Golf Club branded polos, hats, sweatshirts and other golf apparel available at the course and online.

Free princess parking is about to become a thing of the past as some shopping malls are starting to charge for the best parking spots, reserving spaces near entrances and food courts for customers willing to pay the price. At Willowbrook Mall in New Jersey, for example, preferred parking starts at $2.45 for the first hour, while thousands of other spaces will remain free. Mall operators say the programs offer convenience and bring in extra revenue, but plenty of shoppers see them as just another money grab and some malls have already backed off paid-parking plans after backlash. For now, free parking is still the norm, but don’t be surprised when prime spots become an optional upgrade.

A man is facing charges after allegedly parking a truck carrying a guillotine near the U.S. Capitol. Police officers noticed the pickup parked illegally Tuesday afternoon near the Supreme Court and, after investigating, arrested 35-year-old Philan-Tam-Duy Le of California. He was charged with carrying a dangerous weapon and cited for illegal parking. The guillotine was confiscated and investigators are looking into the suspect's background.

After becoming one of Hollywood’s most notorious unreleased movies, Coyote vs. Acme finally hits theaters this weekend. The hybrid live-action/animated comedy, in the style of Who Framed Roger Rabbit, follows Wile E. Coyote as he hires a lawyer, played by Will Forte, to sue ACME over all those defective products that have blown him up, flattened him, and sent him over cliffs for decades. John Cena co-stars as ACME’s attorney. Warner Bros. controversially shelved the completed film in 2023 as a tax write-off, triggering years of backlash before Ketchup Entertainment eventually rescued it. That history has turned its release into something almost forbidden: the movie audiences were told they might never get to see. And apparently, it was worth saving. Coyote vs. Acme currently boasts a 95% score on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics praising its mix of old-school Looney Tunes nostalgia, cartoon chaos, and genuine heart.

Authorities say 32-year-old Sammuel Prescott Lackey climbed a perimeter fence, entered a secured maintenance area, and boarded an Airbus A320 that was undergoing maintenance. Workers discovered him during a routine inspection early Sunday morning. Deputies say the incident delayed aircraft operations and cost JetBlue about $2,400. Lackey has been charged with burglary, criminal mischief, and trespassing on critical infrastructure. (WOFL-TV Orlando)

Two Florida business owners are under arrest for scattering about 1,500 mothballs on the beach in St. Petersburg. Police say this bizarre act wasn't to keep moths from eating their clothes -- it was to evict some unwanted birds. The men allegedly thought the mothballs would keep endangered black skimmer birds from nesting nearby. Authorities say the men were worried the birds would lead to fencing restrictions that could hurt business. Investigators claim surveillance video, purchase records, phone data, and text messages linked them to the scheme. They now face felony dumping charges and wildlife-related misdemeanor charges.  Wildlife officials say volunteers removed roughly 1,000 mothballs, only to find another 500 appear overnight. The pesticide-filled mothballs can be harmful to both wildlife and people, and officials say the effort delayed the birds' nesting season. (Fox News)

This turned out to be a good marketing investment. A Missouri man gave his bail bonds company some free advertising when he was rearrested, wearing a shirt promoting the very firm that had bailed him out. 22-year-old Ethan Adams was put on two years' probation after a 2024 conviction, with orders not to commit new crimes or possess weapons. Investigators say he violated those terms this year with arrests for drunken driving and domestic assault, leading a judge to set a $3,000 bond. Adams turned to Jesus Beebe Bail Bonds, which posted his bail and, as a parting gift, handed him a promotional t-shirt. He then skipped his June 24th court hearing, prompting a warrant. It took deputies a week to catch him, and when he posed for his July 2nd mugshot, he was wearing that same bail bonds shirt. Now stuck with a $6,000 bond, Adams will not get any more help from the company, which may have to forfeit his original bond.
