Scottie Boys Win 2B District

The Scottie boys won the District 2B Track and Field Meet in Fairview on Saturday, outpacing runner-up Harlem 156-102. Malta was third with 96 points. The victory for the Scotties was their fifth in a row, 12th win out of the last 13 district meets, and 20th overall since moving to Class B in 1993.

Along the way, the Scottie boys achieved 29 Personal Bests, including 2 record-setting performances: junior Cade Hudyma extended his school record by 9 inches, throwing 54' 9" on Saturday. The mark is also a meet record, topping a 54' 3" throw by Plentywood's Greg Abenroth in 1971. And Scottie senior Kyler Whitman, who is set to sign with Montana Tech on Monday, ran 22.37 in the 200m. That places him 4th on the Scottie record board, behind Roy Robinson, Ted Schye and Josh Neumiller.

Team Scores: Glasgow 156, Harlem 102, Malta 96, Plentywood 60, Fairview 54, Wolf Point 39, Poplar 18

The top 6 in each event advance on to the Northern B Divisional this coming Friday and Saturday in Glasgow, along with those with state qualifying marks who did not participate on Saturday.
