Peter James Friese was born in Garrison, ND along with his twin brother Paul, on November 12, 1956. Pete passed away on October 17, 2026, at the age of 69.
Pete and Paul joined parents Clarence and Lorraine Friese, sister Mary Jo and brother Tom to complete the Friese family. When Pete and Paul were 6 months old, in May of 1957, the family moved from Garrison to Glasgow, MT.
Pete attended St Raphael’s Catholic School in his early years but spent most of his school days in the Glasgow Public School System where he graduated in 1975. Pete was active in high school sports and was very accomplished in football, hockey, and track and field. Pete played ‘end’ in the 74’ MT State Class A runner-up Glasgow Scottie football team and was selected for the Eastern Division All Conference Football Team that season. He was also a shot-putter for the 75’ State Class A Track and Field champions, Glasgow Scotties. He also participated in the swim team for several years and enjoyed water sports of any kind. Water skiing was his favorite!
Pete was a perfectionist which was a valuable asset in his occupation as a commercial/residential painter and worked for a reasonable price. His sense of humor and easy-going personality made Pete a pleasure to be around and visit with. He enjoyed socializing, dancing, watching movies, football, hockey and baseball (Go Red Sox!) and camping at Ft Peck Lake. He enjoyed kicking back after a hard day and grabbing a cold one!
Pete was survived by his beloved partner Larraine Eiland, sons Scott, Peter James (PJ), Nicoluas, and daughter, Haylee. Brother Tom (Pam) and several nieces and nephews. Pete was blessed with 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Peter was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Lorraine, brother Paul and sister Mary Jo.
Celebration of life will be held at the Assembly of God in Glasgow on November 11 at 10AM. There will also be a celebration of life at Alley’s Palace on November 12, from 4 to 6 PM. Come share a story and have a brew on Pete!
Be at peace with our Lord, Pete. We love you!
