Linnell Dolson DeDobbeleer

Linnell Dolson DeDobbeleer passed away on September 28, 2026 just short of her 90th birthday.  She was born in Glasgow, Montana on October 25, 1936 to Wib and Sue (Reed) Dolson.  She was the youngest of five siblings.  Her early years were spent out south, “Faranuff Country.” Linnell had fond memories of those years living in such a remote area and told many stories of her family’s adventures living life as a ranch raised girl. For three years, her Mom (an accredited teacher), taught all of her children and neighbor children in the Lone Pine Country School.   When the family moved back into town, Linnell continued her education at the Glasgow Schools.

She married James (“Bus” DeDobbeleer) on January 18, 1958 in Honolulu, Hawaii where Bus was stationed for the Navy.  They moved back to Glasgow that same year. They raised their three daughters (Lani, Marcy, Sherri) in Fort Peck where she enjoyed belonging to a small- town community.  Farming was their way of life and Linnell helped out by cooking, moving machinery and keeping the family books. They built a house and moved to Wheeler in 1977.  They continued to work on the Wheeler place and make the family farm their home. Linnell loved living on the farm and spending time outdoors. It was the ideal place for her to raise horses, bum lambs and numerous dogs and cats.

She had many stories to tell about her time with her sisters working on projects, riding horses and attending community events. She really enjoyed time with her grandchildren and traveled miles to spend time with them.

She was preceded in death by her folks, her husband Bus, sister Ruth and brother Bill.

Linnell is survived by her daughters: Lani DeDobbeleer, Marcy (Joe) Moriarty, Sherri (Wes) Nielsen. Grandsons: Bryan (Lanna) Schoenfelder, Kyle, Tyler and Collin Moriarty. Grandaughter: Ashlee Nielsen. Great-Grandsons: James and Carter Schoenfelder, her sisters Dorothy Eayrs and Alice Wallem and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a family graveside service at the Fort Peck Cemetery.  A reception at the Fort Peck Fish Hatchery, will be held October 10, 2026 at 11:30 a.m., friends are welcome to join the family at the Hatchery.   Online condolences may be left for the family at bellmorturymt.com.
