Recall Election for North Valley County Water and Sewer District

Press Release from Valley County Clerk and Recorder Marie Pippin:

The attached petitions have been presented to the office of the Election Administrator to hold a recall election for four of the five members of the North Valley County Water & Sewer District, Inc. board of directors. The petitions have been processed; signatures have been counted and verified.  There are sufficient valid signatures from registered voters who reside within the district for the Election Office to proceed with the recall elections.  Since the petitions were received less than 90 days before the general election, a special election must be held.

The four directors for whom we received petitions are:

                John Rogenes

                DeLee Hustad

                Penny Parsons

                Carmen Pedersen

The fifth director is Tina Peabody who was elected to the board in May 2026.  Tina Peabody and Krystal Dickerson received the same number of votes for the fifth seat on the water board during that election, but Krystal stepped down to let Tina take the seat.

Certified letters will be sent on Monday, October 26, 2026, to the four board members, notifying them of the allegations against them. Upon receipt of the letters, each director has two options.  The director may resign their seat or, the director may prepare a statement, which will be printed on the ballot, giving the reasons why the director should not be recalled. The statement must be submitted to the Election Office within ten days of receipt of the letter.

More to come as the directors either resign or submit their statements.
