Press Release from Valley County Sheriff Tom Boyer

PRESS RELEASE

On April 30, 2026, the Valley County Sheriff’s Office was notified by the U.S. Marshals Service of two adults with extraditable warrants out of North Carolina. The individuals were traveling with a juvenile male and another adult.

A Valley County Sheriff’s Office deputy located the subjects and initiated surveillance. Additional deputies responded to assist, and confirmation of the individuals was made. The U.S. Marshals Service was notified and requested assistance from the FBI SWAT team due to reported threats against law enforcement and concerns for the safety of the child.

In the early morning hours of May 1, 2026, FBI agents made contact with the adult female and juvenile as they approached the restrooms at Roundhouse Point Campground near the dredge cuts. Shortly thereafter, the two adult males were apprehended. All individuals were taken into custody without incident.

The two adults with outstanding warrants were arrested, and the juvenile was placed in the care of Child and Family Services.

I would like to extend my gratitude for the strong working partnership between the U.S. Marshals Service, local FBI agents, the FBI SWAT team, U.S. Border Patrol, Fort Peck Tribal Law Enforcement, and the Valley County Sheriff’s Office deputies. Their coordinated efforts led to the safe apprehension and arrest of out-of-state fugitives without escalation or incident.

Sheriff Tom Boyer
