Montana voters went to the polls on Tuesday and voted in the June Primary Election. Voter turnout as of Wednesday morning in Montana was 36% with still some votes being counted in various Montana counties. In Valley County voter turnout reached 41% with 2,193 voters casting a ballot.
There were no local races on the ballot for Valley County but several legislative races occured where campaign spending reached over $100,000.
In Senate District 14, Republican Eric Albus has defeated Mark Wicks with 68% of the vote. Not all votes were counted as of Wednesday morning but Albus had a huge lead and will face off against Democrat Blake Borst in the November General Election.
In House District 28, Chisholm Christensen easily dispatched John South in the GOP Primary. Christensen had 74% of the vote with a small amount of votes yet to be counted as of Wednesday morning. Christensen will have no opposition in the November General Election and can prepare for the January, 2027 Legislative Session.
In House District 29, Valerie Moore easily defeated challenger Linda Harmon with 62% of the vote in the GOP Primary. Moore, who is seeking her 2nd term in the Legislature will face off against Tess Fahlgren in the November General Election. Fahlgren won the Democrat Primary with 53% of the vote.
In House District 31, Natalie Oneal defeated Lance FourStar with 60% of the vote in the Democrat Primary. Oneal will face no opposition in the General Election and is considered elected to the Montana Legislature.
Jeff Pattison has easily won the GOP nomination for the Montana Public Service Commission. With votes still being counted, Pattison defeated Jeremy Trebas with 67% of the vote. Pattison will be challenged by Democrat Angeline Cheek in the November Election.
