Glasgow City Council Meeting Notes

The Glasgow City Council met in regular session on Monday.

Action items taken by the council:

Approved the hiring of summer laborers for city departments including cemetery, streets, parks and recreation department. 

Appointed Mike Eliason and Randy Lasar to the Glasgow Police Commission for a three year period starting April 7th, 2026. 

Approved a proposal to write off $910.30 in water/sewer bills for Glasgow residents. 

Accepted a proposal from Poole Sprinklers and Lawn to install a sprinkler system in Hoyt Park at a cost of $43,500. 

Agreed to advertise the position of Cemetery Caretaker at Highland Cemetery starting this week with a hourly salary of $28.35. . The applicant selected will replace current Caretaker Danny Miller. 

The council had a discussion with Morrison-Maierle regarding replacing a water transmission line that crosses the Milk River at an estimated cost of $1.5 million. The council is also considering replacing 3 miles of water transmission line an estimated cost of $3 million. USDA Rural Development currently is holding $5 million in funding for the City of Glasgow which could be used for these projects. The council will continue to work with the engineering firm in establishing firm costs for the projects.
