States like Florida, Georgia, and Colorado already have these laws. Idaho is trying to advance this bill sooner rather than later.

During a recent visit to Casa Neos, a restaurant in downtown Miami, content creator Sam E. Goldberg encountered something he’d never seen before. In a social media post that’s since been deleted, Goldberg presented a receipt showing the restaurant had charged him $3…for ketchup…that he wanted to put on a burger that had a $29 price tag. The condiment in question was a 2.25-ounce mini glass that one might find when they order hotel room service that retails for around $1.03. Reports show that charging for condiments is becoming more common in the restaurant world, and establishments can pay upwards of $600 monthly just on ketchup packets…just to end up giving them out to customers for free.

A landfill in England is turning rotting trash into a massive farm by trapping the gas from waste to power a giant grow-dome. This dome is the size of three tennis courts and can grow 10 tons of food a year, even in the dead of winter. The system works by catching gas from the trash and using it for heat and light — while the extra carbon is fed to the plants to help them grow faster. If this works, the team hopes to build more domes to supply fresh, cheap food for any communities that happen to be near landfills.

Scientists have found that Bowhead whales can live over 200 years, thanks to a special protein that acts like a master repair kit for their DNA. This protein helps the whales fix genetic damage and stop inflammation much better than most other animals. After testing this DNA breakthrough on fruit flies, researchers successfully boosted their lifespan. And now, they're on a mission to use this same biological trick to help humans live longer, healthier lives.
