Glasgow City Council Receives Bid to Repair City Streets

The City of Glasgow has identified two city streets in dire need of repair and put out to bid to find a cost to repair those streets. The locations include 7th Avenue North, beginning at 10th Street North to 9th Street North as well as 8th Avenue North, beginning at US Highway 2 to 10th Street North.

The projects would include the milling of  3 inches of existing asphalt paving on both streets and placement of nearly 675 tons of asphalt for both projects.

The city received just one bid for the projects and that was from Century Companies. The bid was opened on Tuesday and the cost came in at $269, 835.

The Glasgow City Council took the bid under advisement and took no action.

If the bid is accepted, the projects will be completed prior to October 31st, 2026.

The city is currently working with the State of Montana on disaster funding for city streets that were damaged by a rainstorm on July 3rd. The city has identified 23 locations that would be eligible for disaster funding and would be repaired with financial assistance from the State of Montana.

The Glasgow City Council passed a disaster resolution on Tuesday. The city will be required to come up with less than $10,000 and the State of Montana will provide nearly a million dollars to repair damaged streets.
