FORT PECK, Mont. — The Northeast Montana Veterans Memorial celebrated a decade of honoring the men and women who have served our nation with a successful 10-Year Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, July 4th, drawing one of the largest crowds in the Memorial's history. Several hundred people gathered at the Memorial in Fort Peck to commemorate the milestone and celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America.
The morning program featured keynote speaker Jonathan Wiens, whose remarks reflected on the service of Montanans. Visitors also had the opportunity to view the Memorial's newest addition, the Battlefield Cross, which honors those killed in action from the nine counties of Northeast Montana.
The committee extends its sincere appreciation everyone who attended, volunteered, donated, and helped make this anniversary celebration such a meaningful success and to the many individuals and businesses who donated raffle prizes and to everyone who purchased tickets in support of the Battlefield Cross project.
