Northeast Montana Veterans Memorial Marks 10 Years of Honoring Veterans

FORT PECK, Mont. — The Northeast Montana Veterans Memorial celebrated a decade of honoring the men and women who have served our nation with a successful 10-Year Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, July 4th, drawing one of the largest crowds in the Memorial's history.  Several hundred people gathered at the Memorial in Fort Peck to commemorate the milestone and celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America.

The morning program featured keynote speaker Jonathan Wiens, whose remarks reflected on the service of Montanans.  Visitors also had the opportunity to view the Memorial's newest addition, the Battlefield Cross, which honors those killed in action from the nine counties of Northeast Montana.

The committee extends its sincere appreciation everyone who attended, volunteered, donated, and helped make this anniversary celebration such a meaningful success and to the many individuals and businesses who donated raffle prizes and to everyone who purchased tickets in support of the Battlefield Cross project.

The raffle winners were:

  • Charbroil Bistro Pro Grill: Josh Thompson
  • Channel Lock Tool Box: Collin Radakovich
  • Savage 6.5 Creedmoor Rifle: Josh Thompson
  • Henry Golden Boy .22 Caliber Rifle: Lance Kuylen

As the Northeast Montana Veterans Memorial enters its second decade, the committee remains committed to preserving the stories and honoring the service and sacrifice of veterans from across Northeast Montana for generations to come.
