Glasgow School Board Meeting

The Glasgow School Board met in regular session on Wednesday for their July meeting.

Action items taken at the meeting:

The board approved hiring Hannah Rabson and Heather Hooper as Para Professionals, Nathaniel Adams as Transportation Coordinator and Karen Warrior as E-Bus Driver. Paul Yoakam was approved as the Head Girls Basketball Coach and Carla Swenson as K-Kids Advisor.

The board approved a request to increase bus driver wages with an increase of 1.75%. First year bus drivers will earn $26.06 per hour while those drivers with over 26 years of experience will earn $31.73 per hour.

The board approved a memorandum of understanding with Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital. The MOU is the first step in a collaboration between the school district and FMDH involving a complete reconstruction of the Scottie Field Complex and the creation, operation and funding of educational programs related to health education and healthcare occupation opportunities.

The board also voted to move forward with a request for financing for the Scottie Field Complex from the Montana Board of Investments. FMDH would make a long term financial committment for the payment of the loan from the Montana Board of Investments. The reconstruction of Scottie Field would include a new all-weather track and a turf football field replacing the current grass field along with new lights for the facility. If financing is approved and a full agreement is reached with FMDH, construction would begin in May of 2027 with completion by September of 2027.

The board approved increasing prices for the school food program by 25 cents for students for breakfast and lunch. Starting in August of 2026, breakfast for students will cost $3 and lunch $4. Adults will pay $5.25 for lunch and $3.25 for breakfast. The school food program traditionally has lost money and according to school administrators this school year the program lost nearly $5000.
