R6 Wardens address 40 violations by 10 residents of Oregon and Washington

Montana FWP Region 6 game wardens Andy Matakis and Dirk Paulsen recently returned from a trip to Oregon and Washington where they conducted interviews with 10 suspects who were involved in three separate investigations.

Wardens addressed 40 violations in six different Montana counties, resulting in guilty pleas from the suspects. Violations included hunting without a license, unlawful possession, tag transfer from one hunter to another, purchasing licenses from another hunter, unlawful procurement of multiple licenses, unlawful use of deer B licenses to harvest buck deer, and the use of district specific deer licenses in the wrong district.

Wardens seized two bull elk, two antelope bucks, four whitetail bucks and three mule deer bucks that were unlawfully harvested throughout Montana.

FWP Enforcement would like to thank the Oregon State Police Fish and Wildlife Division and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife Police for all their assistance with these investigations. We would also like to thank Lincoln, Superior, Custer, Liberty, Lewis and Clark, and Blaine Counties for their hard work to resolve these cases.
