Arthur Dion Longee, 38, of Poplar, was sentenced today to 20 years in federal prison for aggravated sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl.
Longee pleaded guilty in December 2025. He received 10 years for aggravated sexual abuse and 10 years for committing a sex offense as a registered sex offender. The sentences will run back-to-back. He will also serve lifetime supervised release after prison.
The assault occurred on January 22, 2025. Court documents show Longee had previously been convicted of a sex crime in 2013. On the day of the assault, he brought the victim and her friend to his grandmother's house in Poplar to use meth and drink alcohol.
After the friend left, Longee strangled the victim until she lost consciousness, then assaulted her. When she woke up, he strangled her again. The victim escaped through the kitchen and ran to a friend's house, who called 911.
Police found Longee passed out at the residence and arrested him. A sexual assault examination confirmed injuries consistent with the attack.
The case was prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney's Office and investigated by the Fort Peck Tribes and FBI.
