The Medicine Lake/Froid Redhawks defeated the Plentywood Wildcats in the opening round of the Eastern C Boys' Divisional Basketball Tournament in Sidney on Wednesday afternoon. Froid/Lake advances to the semifinal round on Thursday at 3:00, where they will await the winner of the Bainville vs. Lustre matchup. Plentywood moves into a loser out contest, where they will play the loser of the Bainville vs. Lustre Christian game at 9:00 on Thursday morning.

The Lustre Christian Lions held off a furious Bainville Bulldogs comeback, in overtime, to move on to the semifinal round at the Eastern C Boys' Divisional Tournament in Sidney on Wednesday afternoon. The Lions will face Medicine Lake/Froid on Thursday at 3:00, while Bainville will play Plentywood in a loser-out contest at 9:00 on Thursday morning.

This was a back-and-forth, close contest throughout, but ultimately Richey Lambert pulled away at the end for the 3 point victory. Scobey will move into a loser-out contest at 10:30 on Thursday against the loser of the North Country vs. Fairview contest. Richey/Lambert moves into the semifinal game, and they will play the winner of the North Country vs. Fairview game.

The game was close for the first quarter, but Fairview pulled away in the second quarter and then never looked back. Fairview moves into a semifinal game against Richey/Lambert at 4:30 on Thursday afternoon, while North Country will play Scobey in a loser-out game at 10:30 on Thursday morning.

With the win, Lustre could possibly qualify for a challenge game. If Froid/Lake wins the Championship Game over Fairview, Lustre will play a challenge game vs. Fairview on Saturday at 4:00. If Fairview wins, Lustre will not be able to challenge and will finish in 3rd place.
