NE Montana Veterans Memorial 10-year Anniversary Celebration

The Northeast Montana Veterans Memorial will celebrate the 10-year anniversary of its grand opening Sat. July 4th at 10a.m. at the memorial in Fort Peck. Guest speaker Jonathan Wiens, a Glasgow High School graduate & former Army Green Beret, will share remarks honoring veterans including those on the memorial's walls, representing nine northeast Montana counties. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, with reserved seating available for Gold Star families, elderly guests, & individuals with disabilities. In case of bad weather, the program will move to the Fort Peck Recreation Hall. The day's events will also include food vendors & a special 2p.m. matinée performance of "9 to 5" at the Fort Peck Summer Theatre. The memorial committee is also holding a raffle drawing to support the memorial & help continue its mission of honoring northeast Montana veterans with the addition of a battlefield cross statue, with tickets available until the 4" of July from committee members & local VFW posts.
