One-Hit Wonder - THE DUCK JACKIE LEE #14 in 1965
Born Earl Nelson on 9/8/1928 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Died on 7/12/2008 (age 79). R&B singer. One-half of Bob & Earl duo with Bobby Day, or Rockin' Robin fame. They didn't have a Top 40 hit, but had several in the Top 100. Their songs have been sampled many times, including one named Harlem Shuffle that the band House of Pain sampled in their huge 1992 hit Jump Around.
Jackie took his stage name from his wife’s middle name, Jackie, and his middle name, Lee. He also sang lead on the Hollywood Flames' “Buzz-Buzz-Buzz.”
