Albus Confirmed Winner of GOP Primary in Senate District 14

It took nearly 24 hours after the polls closed but election officials in Hill County finally released results of the June Primary Election. Trouble with tabulating machines forced Hill County to start hand counting ballots on Wednesday morning.

GOP State Senate candidate Eric Albus was confirmed the winner of the GOP Primary in State Senate District 14 winning 64% of the vote over Mark Wicks. Senate District #14 included over 1500 votes in Hill County so Albus had to wait until those votes were counted before claiming victory. The electoral victory wasn't really in doubt though as Albus had a huge lead over Wicks even without the ballots counted in Hill County.

It was a dominating victory for Albus as he won Valley County with 84% of the vote, Phillips County 72%, 63% in Liberty County, 57% in Hill County and 52% in Blaine County.

Albus will go on to the November General Election to face Democrat Blake Borst.
