BIG SKY PLAYERS

MSU quarterback earns third Big Sky honor

BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) Montana State quarterback Dakota Prukop has been named the Big Sky Conference offensive player of the week for the second week in a row and for the third time this season.

The sophomore from Austin, Texas, piled up 509 yards in total offense and accounted for six touchdowns in the Bobcats' 77-37 win at UC Davis, where his father Tim Prukop played linebacker from 1985-87.

Prukop passed for 361 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 148 yards and two more scores.

MSU finished the game with a school record 737 yards in total offense and the 77 points were the most scored by the Bobcats against a Division I opponent.

North Dakota linebacker Dayo Idowu was named the defensive player of the week while teammate Alex Tillman earned special teams honors as UND rallied from a 13-3 halftime deficit to beat Portland State 24-16.

FOOTBALL POLLS

Griz 7/6, Bobcats 9/11 in FCS polls

HELENA, Mont. (AP) A 40-point road win helped the Montana State football team move up in both The Sports Network and FCS coaches' football polls, while the Grizzlies held their spot in the media poll and moved up a spot in the coaches' poll after a bye weekend.
