The Glasgow Kiwanis Club will once again organize & host the Annual Easter Egg Hunt in Glasgow Sat. April 19th. Glasgow Kiwanis Club members are stuffing 2000 eggs for this yearly event. This year’s hunt will be held at Hoyt Park next to the Glasgow Swimming Pool & will begin at 11a.m. sharp! Please don’t be late or you may miss the fun! FMDH & Reynolds Market graciously sponsored the Easter Eggs & candy for the Kiwanis Club Easter Egg Hunt. Age groups for the event are ages 1-3, 4-5 & 6-8. The Job Service Employers’ Committee, JSEC, will be hosting a Spring Seminar Tues. April 22nd from 9a.m. – 12noon at the Cottonwood Inn. The topic, “Create Lasting Change: Get out of S.T.U.C.K. & Energize your Life” will be presented by Kim Kompel, owner of Life Path Connections, LLC. Friday, April 25th 2014 
The 24th Annual Makoshika Quilt Show, sponsored by Patches on the Prairie Quilt Guild, is Fri, April 25th from 10a.m. – 6p.m & Sat. April 26th from 10a.m. – 4p.m. at the EPEC Community Center in Glendive. This year’s featured quilter is Norma Sherman, resident of Glendive & one of the original members of Patches on the Prairie Quilter’s Guild. There will be a silent auction with donations from local merchants & several demonstrations both days of the show.

The Glasgow Fire Department is having a Fundraiser for a new Ladder Truck. Saturday, April 26th, at the Cottonwood Inn. The free will offering dinner at 6pm; music starts at 8pm. There will be 50/50 tickets, raffle tickets and live auction items.

The Miles City Spring Expo and Boy Scout Show will be Saturday, April 26th from 9-5 at the Eastern Montana Fairgrounds Exhibition Hall. Vendors will be showcasing home improvement and flooring, new cars and recreation vehicles, landscaping and yard equipment, ag supplies, cosmetics, jewelry, and much more. Sign-up for lots of door prizes. Concessions will be offered by the Boy Scouts.

The Nashua Lion’s Club’s 17th Annual Talent Show is Sun. April 27th at 2p.m. at the Nashua School Gym. They will have a live auction, the Por-Q-Bots Slave Auction, & cash prizes for the contestants. Everyone is welcome to attend.

First Lutheran Church of Glasgow is having a Lutefisk Dinner Sun. April 27th from 11:30a.m. – 1:30p.m. They will be serving Lutefisk, ham, mashed potatoes & gravy, coleslaw Lefsa Shack lefsa & sherbet for dessert. Cost is $15 for adults, $10 for K-6th grade & kids 5 & under are free. Thrivent Financial Valley County Chapter #31373 will supplement funds raised with proceeds going to the FLC Youth Group. Everyone is invited.

The Glasgow Chapter of the Grizzly Scholarship Association is sponsoring a GSA Barbecue Tues. April 29th at Sunnyside Country Club. The social begins at 5:30p.m. with the barbecue at 6p.m. Cost is $10 per plate for burgers & fixings. Griz coaches & GSA Reps will be in attendance; everyone is invited. Jeff Jurgens Memorial Scholarship applications are due by May 2nd. They are available at Valley County High School guidance counselors in Glasgow, Frazer, Hinsdale, Lustre, Nashua & Opheim or contact Leah Arneson, 230-2973, for an application or with any questions. Applicants must be attending or enrolled in a Montana or adjoining state college, university, industrial, technical or trade school AND pursuing a degree in a medical/health related field OR played high school varsity basketball.

St. Raphael’s PCCW is sponsoring the Mother’s Day Luncheon & Fashion Show at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church Sat. May 10th from 11a.m. – 2p.m. There will be many door prizes, including gift certificates, dolls, & an American Girl Doll – KAYA,(Kiya) Native American Doll with a complete wardrobe designed by Dolores Matuska. Proceeds will be donated to the Teresa Ann Wagner scholarship fund. Cost for this event are $15 for adults, $10 for children up to age 12, consider buying a table of 8 for $100 & filling it up with your children, grandchildren, friends, etc, or donate a table to an organization. For reservations call 263-5553, the church office at 228-9800, or stop in to the Parish office. Everyone is invited to attend this fun & special event honoring the work women do in raising faith filled children. Anyone attending is welcome to bring their dolls.
