Will Norman Stahl
Friday, January 20th 2012
Will N. Stahl, 79, beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed peacefully into Jesus’ loving arms January 17th, 2012.

Will was born in Richland, MT, January 25th, 1932, to Harry and Ruth Stahl. He was the fifth son, followed by two sisters. He attended schools in Richland and Hamilton, MT. Will was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Glasgow. He worked several jobs including Dale Brown Lumber Yard, U. S. Postal Service, Dale Plumbing, as well as his own farm and ranch. He spent ten years in Texas working with a custom harvest crew, and upon returning to Glasgow, worked at Zerbe Brothers as a mechanic, equipment transporter and finally a flagger. (Note to Galen, “I won’t be coming back to work.”)

He married Alice Bradshaw and together they had three children, Katherine Stahl (deceased), Janet (Wayne) Bippes, Bluffdale, UT, and John (Becky) Stahl Sandy, UT. Will and Alice were later divorced.

Will loved to hunt, fish, and work outdoors. He spent many hours working on tractors and fixing anything that he could find that needed fixing. He was relied upon around the country to repair any piece of farm equipment that no one else could fix. He ranched along the Hi-Line Country, raising cattle, and he loved to breed and raise Appaloosa horses. Will participated in the Ridge Runners Saddle Club, serving as president, and later held national offices. He helped his brothers and sisters with their ranches. This gave him the opportunity to spend a lot of time at the Lund Place north of Hinsdale where he has requested his ashes to be spread.

He spent the last year and a half of his life in rural Utah surrounded by Janet and John and their families. When asked what he wanted for his birthday or Christmas, his only response was to spend time with his family close by. He had the joy of meeting his first four great-grandbabies, but unfortunately was unable to meet great-grandson Smith (Katie and Chris) who is due in March.

Will is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Kathy Stahl, brother Carl Stahl, brother- in- law Roy Johnson and sister-in-law Jean Stahl. He is survived by his son, daughter, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, three brothers (Daryl, Irvin, and Leonard), two sisters (Lois and MaryAnn), and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved very much.
In the words of Will, “I was here, now I’m gone.”

There will be an open house at Pastor Wayne and Janet Bippes’ home at 2853 W. 14865 S., Bluffdale, UT 84065, on Will’s 80th birthday, January 25, 2012 from 4-8 PM. Condolences may be sent to this address.
