With the addition of Voices of Montana to the daily KLTZ schedule at 9:05 a.m., we've moved Tradio to 8:40 a.m.

Bill proposed to increase Montana gas tax by a nickel

HELENA, Mont. (AP) A bill has been introduced in the Montana Legislature that would increase the state's gas tax by a nickel.

Democratic Rep. Nancy Wilson, of Missoula, is sponsoring House Bill 275.

The state gas tax is currently 27 cents a gallon. Federal tax adds an additional 18.4 cents per gallon.

Civics measure expected to sail through ND Senate

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) Arizona has beat North Dakota as the first state to require high school students to take the same test that immigrants must pass to become a U.S. citizen.

But North Dakota should be a close second.

The measure already sailed through the state House and it's expected to get similar support in the Senate.
