Thursday, September 2nd 2010 The VFW will have Ruthie’s Indian Tacos Thurs. Sept. 2nd from 4:30p.m. until gone. This is a fundraiser for the Northeast Montana Veteran’s Memorial Fund. Everyone is invited to attend.
Monday, September 6th 2010 The regular schedule of powerhouse tours is in effect. Weekday tour times are 9:00 am, 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, and 3:00 pm. Weekend and holiday tour times are every hour beginning at 9:00 am with the last tour of the day at 4:00 pm. Tour signup is at the Fort Peck Interpretive Center. All adults are required to show a government issued photo ID. Please contact the Interpretive Center at 526-3493 with any questions.
Tuesday, September 7th 2010 The Nashua Lions Club will have a Farmer’s Market every Monday at the Lions Park by the Nashua Civic Center from 5-6:30p.m. Each space will cost $5; venders of vegetables, crafts & wrapped baked goods are welcome. Contact the Nashua Lions for more information at 746-3483 or 746-3303. Refreshments will be available & bring your lawn chairs to sit & listen to occasional musical entertainment. Due to the Labor Day holiday the Nashua Lions Club Farmer’s Market will be held Tues. Sept. 7th instead of Monday the 6th.
Thursday, September 9th 2010 There will be an American Red Cross Blood Drive Thurs. Sept. 9th from 11a.m. – 5p.m. at the Glasgow VFW on Hwy. 2. To schedule a blood donation appointment call 1-800-RED-CROSS. (yes this is a correct number)
Saturday, September 11th 2010 The World Atlatl Association will hold an atlatl (spear throwing) competions at the Wahkpa Chu’gn Buffalo Jump in Havre, MT Sat. & Sun. Sept. 11th & 12th from 10a.m. to 5p.m. The competition is open to the public free of charge. There will be 3 divisions, Men’s, Women’s & Youth with 1st prize of $100, 2nd prize of $50 & 3rd prize of $25 being awarded in each division. No pre-registration is required. Various styles of atlatl’s will be available with free lessons on how to throw them. The site is located behind Holiday Village Mall. Free tours of the Wahkpa Chu’gn Buffalo Jump will be offered Sat. Sept. 11th at 12noon & 1p.m.
