Peyton Nieskens scored seven points in overtime as Scobey topped defending champion Box Elder 73-61 in the Class C boys state basketball tournament.

Nieskens scored 21 points while teammate CJ Nelson added 20 for the Spartans. Nelson made seven of eight free throws in the second half and overtime. Kobe Ralston chipped in with 15 points for the Spartans.

The Spartans opened the game on a 7-0 run before Box Elder battled back to take an early lead. Scobey responded in the second period by outscoring the Bears 17-8 to take a nine-point advantage.

Box Elder scored the first nine points in the second half and the teams were tied after the third quarter.
